AXGT is the governance and utility token for AxonDAO. Holders vote on protocol decisions and can use it for GPU rentals and ecosystem access. This post covers how a decision actually gets made.
Stage one: discussion
Proposals start as forum posts, not ballots. The purpose is to find objections early, while the idea is still cheap to change.
A discussion post should state the problem before the solution. Proposals that open with an implementation tend to get feedback on the implementation and never surface whether the problem was framed correctly.
Stage two: revision
Most proposals change materially between first post and final draft. This is the process working, not failing.
- Narrowing scope after someone identifies an edge case.
- Adding a sunset or review date.
- Splitting one proposal into two that can be decided independently.
Stage three: formal proposal
The change, the rationale, the implementation path, and what happens if it does not pass. That last item is often skipped and it matters.
Stage four: vote
Voting opens for a fixed window. Holders vote in proportion to holdings.
Voting power reflects governance participation rights. It is not a claim on revenue and carries no entitlement to distributions.
After the vote
Passed proposals move to implementation with the outcome recorded. Failed proposals can be reworked and resubmitted.
